Do you trust your colleague and simply hire???

You have an open key position at your company that you need to fill quickly so that your company can function at an optimum level. You have been introduced to a potential executive for your company through a colleague. They seem to have the right resume, pedigree, connections for them to be able to take on your available position. Do you trust your colleague and simply hire?

In my books this is very straight forward. Trust no one : )) Only thing that you can put your trust in, is your commitment to excellence and due diligence. Needless to say that referrals are recognized talent pipeline. Once you get a candidate make sure that you treat this individual as any other and follow your process and adhere to your corporate policies and procedures in order to minimize the risk. This way you will protect your relationship with your friend as well as the interests of your organization.
